Indeed, much like bLiNd, it's easy to take for granted just how CONSISTENTLY badass SS' jams are, and most of the accolades from one are completely transferable & applicable to the next. This arrangement in particular features some sweet drums on the intro & outro rolls & fills, workin' dat snare and doz toms quite a bit, well-layered strings that fill everything out, and the aforementioned pipe organ that adds a little element of surprise towards the three minute marker. Couldn't ask for much more; fantastic track + glad to see more of the MMX series represented on the site thanks to Maverick Rising & Sixto Sounds!―.
Sixto did a stellar job on this overlooked source. As tough asthe game can be, X8 had some solid music and this source is adefinite bright spot. Sixto took it and imbued a sense ofascension worthy of the final boss fight of the game.There is some overcompression present in this version - Ipersonally liked the more crisp versions I heard earlier, butthat was Sixto's decision ultimately and I try to respect artistchoice. The big guitars and the driving pace does a great jobsetting the tone for mayhem, and the drawn out notes help cementthe otherworldly battle image.Easily one of Sixto's best in my eyes, and an appropriate way toclimax Maverick Rising with.
